Stay Safe in the Sun: UV Protection Tips

Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors, but it’s also important to protect yourself from harmful UV rays. Too much sun exposure can lead to sunburn, premature skin aging, eye damage, and increase your risk of skin cancer.

Here are a few simple ways to stay protected:

  • Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
  • Wear a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and lightweight protective clothing.
  • Seek shade during peak sunlight hours, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Stay hydrated while spending time outdoors.
  • Check your skin regularly for any new or changing moles or spots and contact your healthcare provider if you notice anything unusual.

Many health insurance plans, including Medicare in certain situations, may cover medically necessary skin evaluations. If you have questions about your health insurance coverage, we’re here to help.
