You Are Not Alone

May is Mental Health Awareness month and at Hartman Insurance Services we want you to know that you are not alone! Mental illness or mental health conditions are more common than you think. One in five U.S. adults and one in six youth aged 6-17 experience mental illness or a mental health disorder each year according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Please know that having any of these conditions doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you. There can be multiple linking causes to mental illnesses such as genetics, environment, lifestyle, and stress. Sometimes having one of these conditions can be overwhelming and you might not know where you can turn for help.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

At Hartman Insurance Services we help you learn how your health insurance benefits work for you. There are several options that you might not know are available to you. For example, if you have the Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage, also known as Obama Care or Marketplace coverage, these plans can’t deny you coverage or charge you more just because you have any pre-existing condition, including mental health and substance use disorder conditions. Coverage for treatment of all pre-existing conditions begins the day your coverage starts. All Marketplace plans cover mental health and substance abuse services as essential health benefits. Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) helps pay for certain outpatient mental health services. Click here to read about Medicare coverage.
