The other day I received a phone from a client that lost their premium subsidy through the marketplace. During our meeting, we established an Online account. When we had met previously, we had to make adjustments via telephone. After he lost his subsidy we connected and establish an account online and attached his previous application. That is when we discovered that when they enrolled last fall they had talked to someone on the phone. The person set it up that ALL correspondence would go to an email address that they controlled. Needless to say, the marketplace had requested information that he never knew they wanted.
We have started the process all over and will now do an appeal to see if we can get the nearly $1,000 back that he was forced to pay over the last 2 months. Lesson from the post: USE a local agent that you know and trust. Need an agent? Find an agent here!
